Consumers warned not to take chances when shopping for Christmas

Consumers are being warned not to take chances when shopping for Christmas.

The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says the advice follows concerns of stock shortages and delays because of the pandemic and Brexit.

The CCPC says they’re ideal circumstances for rogue traders, online and instore, to take advantage of consumers who are having trouble getting a particular product or toy.

It’s urging shoppers to always buy from reputable retailers, pay securely, watch out for exclusively five-star reviews and to check the items as soon as they arrive.
