Five percent of Irish pubs have closed since beginning of pandemic

Five percent of the country’s pubs have closed their doors since the beginning of the pandemic.

That’s according to a joint analysis from the pub trade’s representative bodies.

The Vintners Federation of Ireland says it highlights how pubs bore the brunt of Covid restrictions.

Chief Executive Padraig Cribben says it’s worrying how widely spread the losses are across the country:
