Consultant claims Slaintecare is a ‘busted flush’

A leading consultant claims Sláintecare is a ‘busted flush’, after a third member quit its implementation advisory council.

Two senior members resigned early last month – and high-profile consultant, Anthony O’Connor, stood down yesterday.

They were all disappointed with the pace of the health reform plan.

Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says Slaintecare remains the roadmap for achieving universal healthcare, with the current HSE model replaced with a more regionalised structure.

However,  Professor Bill Tormey, a consultant in Beaumont Hospital, says if that’s to be achieved, then Minister Donnelly must take the lead……
