Dundalk move out of the bottom two

Dundalk delivered their second league victory in a week with a 2-1 win over Bohemians at Oriel Park on Monday night.

Pat Hoban’s 17th goal of the season helped Dundalk climb out of the bottom two, and ahead of this Friday night’s trip to Ballybofey to play Finn Harps, Dundalk are up to eighth in the table.

It’s all getting very interesting in the Premier Division standings.

Waterford have now dropped into the bottom two and sit on 32 points; Dundalk are 8th on 34 points; Harps are 7th on 36 points and Drogheda are 6th on on 37 points. All four teams have played 28 games.

The defeat at Oriel Park means stuttering Bohs remain 5th and four points adrift of Derry City – although they do have a game in hand.

Derry City are at Shamrock Rovers on Friday night; Bohs are in Longford on Saturday.
