Calls for urgent action to address Liscooley speeding issues

It’s only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or worse unless action is taken to address speeding issues at Liscooley on the main Ballybofey to Lifford Road.

That’s according to Councillor Patrick McGowan who says the installation of one single flashing speed sign in the area is just tokenism.

Minor traffic calming and resurfacing works have been carried out at Liscooley with a view towards installing a pedestrian crossing if speeds can be reduced to below 50 km/h.

However, Councillor McGowan says the speed has only increased since the works have been carried out.

He says it’s up to Donegal County Council and the TII to step up to the mark:
