Trouble brewing for Dundalk ahead of Harps visit

Troubled Dundalk are at the centre of further controversy this week.

Their players will undergo Covid-19 testing instead of training as the club investigates a reported breach of Covid regulations by some members of the first team squad.

It comes after photos emerged on social media showing some members of the squad in Belfast last weekend.

The easing of restrictions permits inter-county travel but the ban on nonessential travel was in place when the Dundalk players enjoyed what has been labelled a team-bonding exercise.

Next up in the league for Dundalk is a trip to Ballybofey this Friday night to face Finn Harps and it’s not the ideal preparation for what’s an important game.

In the meantime the Dundalk board have asked for a report on the incident.
