Popular local paper struggling with no Government Covid funding

 
 

The owner of a popular newspaper in Donegal has expressed frustration over little to no Government funding during the course of the pandemic.
While the Government has spent millions on advertising, the bulk of the money has primarily gone to national media with the likes of standalone papers struggling to survive.
Since the Covid outbreak began, advertising at the Tir Chonaill Tribune advertising collapsed by 98% with the paper having to decrease its weekly content from 40 to 32 pages.
