Minister pledges to examine issues with Mica Redress Scheme

 

Finance Minister Pascal Donohoe has pledged to examine a number of issues which have arisen in respect of the Mica Redress Scheme, but did not comment on a call for banks to make a contribution to the costs being incurred by householders.
During last night’s banking debate in the Dail, Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn raised the extra coasts being faced by many scheme applicants, particularly when houses are being demolished, and called for the establishment of a forum to examine the issues.
However, the minister did not engage with Deputy MacLochlainn’s assertion that the fact that the banks would benefit because the redress scheme would improve the value of the affected homes……..
