Pringle calls for shortcomings with SUSI grant to be tackled

 

The Minister for Higher Education is being urged to address what’s been described as shortcomings with the SUSI grant.
The grant scheme is to open for applications to students next week but there’s said to be a cohort of that fall between two stools and don’t qualify for top up.
It’s because some don’t have a social welfare element but their parents earn less than 24 thousand euro a year
Speaking in the Dail, Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle says this issue must be sorted as soon as possible:
