Irish Water under fire again after South Inishowen suffers weekend outage

 

Irish Water has come under fire again over no immediate plans for a total upgrade to the water supply in South Inishowen.
It’s after yet another burst in the area of the ‘Slablands’ yesterday which left a significant number of homes and businesses without water for much of the day.
It’s understood that in order to alleviate the problem, water had to be sourced from a supply in nearby Northern Ireland.
Local Cllr Paul Canning, who has repeatedly called for full upgrade works, has accused Irish Water of effectively ignoring South Inishowen:
