Health Minister told to act on pressures facing LUH

 

The Health Minister has been asked to establish whether additional capacity at St Joseph’s Community Hospital, Stranorlar could be used alleviate pressure at Letterkenny University Hospital.
Latest figures show that over 100 people with Covid-19 were being treated at Letterkenny University Hospital yesterday.
The pressures facing the hospital were evident on Sunday when patients had to be treated in ambulances outside the hospital as there was no room inside.
Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn also pressed Minister Donnelly for a commitment that all frontline staff at the hospital would be vaccinated as soon as possible:

Minister Donnelly, failed to give a definitive time as to when all staff at Letterkenny University Hospital would be vaccinated but praised the people of Donegal for their efforts in bringing down the case numbers in the county:
