LUH staff praised for coping with Covid pressures

 

Last night, Letterkenny University Hospital secured additional staff, which is enabled it to open a further 11 beds in order to respond to the demand.
While funding is in place for 40 additional beds at the hospital there’s said to be significant challenges with recruiting staff.
Local Cllr Ciaran Brogan who’s also a member of the Regional health forum west says staff and personnel at the hospital must be praised for coping with the increased pressures due to Covid-19.
He says while we will overcome the crisis, it’s important that if people don’t need to attend the ED they should be treated at primary care level where possible:
