Council to discuss restricting CODA flights

The Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council Cllr Brian Tierney has called a Special Confidential Full Council meeting to take place next Tuesday.
The meeting will be held to discuss calls for a suspension of flights to and from City of Derry Airport and Great Britain.
Among those calling for a suspension is Sinn Fein Cllr Sandra Duffy.
She says Tuesday is the earliest that the meeting could be facilitated in line with Standing Orders, although her preference would have been top have that meeting today.
Cllr Duffy says in the meantime, the council is seeking legal clarification on whether its contract with the airport’s operators allows such a direct intervention…………..
