Traditional Christmas party would give ‘high risk’ of transmission

A traditional Christmas party would present the highest risk of covid-19 transmission, according to HIQA.
New advice to the National Public Health Emergency Team has been published which show indoor gatherings cause the disease to spread very quickly.
However, it is noted that although outdoor settings are preferred, there are cases of transmission when there is limited social distancing and a dense congregation.
It has recommended the Department of Health roll out a new communication campaign, which focuses on different levels of risk.
