Letterkenny sees drop in Covid rate as Inishowen rate rises further


The latest incidence rate figures for Covid-19 Donegal reflect a rise in most areas. 
The number of cases per electoral area covers the 14 days up to October 12.
However Letterkenny has recorded a fall in the latest figures.
Lifford Stranorlar remains the local electoral area with the highest incidence rate in the county and has risen in the past week to 610.
The incidence rate in South Inishowen has more than doubled with the incidence rate going from 241.4 to 487.3 cases per 100,000.
North Inishowen has seen a rise too, with an incidence rate now of 442.1 compared with 347.8 cases per 100,000 last week.
Letterkenny recorded a big drop this week with the incidence rate almost halved from last week’s figure of 332.2 to 288.7 cases per 100,000 of the population.
Donegal has recorded a significant increase going from 192.5 to 294.4
Milford has seen an increase, going from 116.4 to 145.2 cases per 100,000 of the population.
While the incidence rates in Glenties is now at 177.2 cases per 100,000 also reflecting a rise compared to last week’s figure of 121.2.
