Calls on Council to take over Arranmore Island road

 

There are further calls for a road on Arranmore Island to be taken over by Donegal County Council.
The road, known as High Street or the Doctor’s Road is home to a number of residential properties and it’s understood that while it meets the criteria for takeover, it has been referred to by the Council as a cul-de-sac for several years.
In the interim, approximately €100,000 was allocated over the two instalments by Roinn Na Gaeltachta, with local labour also voluntarily offered to carry out improvements.
