Calls on Council to take over Arranmore Island road

 

There are further calls for a road on Arranmore Island to be taken over by Donegal County Council.

The road, known as High Street or the Doctor's Road is home to a number of residential properties and it's understood that while it meets the criteria for takeover, it has been referred to by the Council as a cul-de-sac for several years.

In the interim, approximately €100,000 was allocated over the two instalments by Roinn Na Gaeltachta, with local labour also voluntarily offered to carry out improvements.

Seamus Rodgers, Labour Party spokesperson for Glenties Electoral Area says the local authority must step in:
