Sporting events are being forced behind closed doors.
Following a Cabinet meeting this afternoon, the government has imposed the measure until at least September 13th.
Before today, outdoor crowds of 200 or less were allowed to assemble.
Training is limited to groups of fifteen, but that limit does not apply to matches.
Acting chief medical officer Ronan Glynn attempted to explain the decision this evening.
