Plans submitted for a distillery at Cloghan


Plans have been submitted to Donegal County Council for a new distillery at Cummirk, Cloghan.
The plans include the construction of a distillery complex building to accommodate an ancillary office/ reception and toilet area, a storage area, bottling line, plant room, milling mash tun, fermentation, pallet and still areas as well as external silos and a sewage treatment system along with all associated site development works.
Its also proposed to change the use of the existing shed to a distillery research and development centre.
Retention permission is being sought for altered roofline and side extension to existing shed to accommodate the change of use.
A natura impact statement has been carried out.
The application was lodged with Donegal County Council this week with a decision expected in October.
