Another negative round of results for Irish sides

The results from the fifth round of testing for COVID-19 on players and staff from Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers and Derry City have again produced negative results as the FAI continues on a pathway for a safer return to action for all Irish football.
The tests were conducted as part of the FAI’s pilot programme with the SSE Airtricity League’s European qualified teams before they trained on Monday.
All those tested have been informed of their negative result. FAI Medical Director Dr Alan Byrne will receive the results from the tests on players and staff from Bohemians on Wednesday.
All results received so far from testing on the players and staff at Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Bohemians and Derry City have produced negative results.
Tests will be carried out again before training on Thursday.
Meanwhile, talks will resume today between the FAI and SSE Airtricity Premier Division clubs.
It’s hoped a financial package can be agreed to allow clubs return to play.
