There are major safety concerns over trees aligning the Golf Course road in Letterkenny.
Heavy ivy growing on the trees is said to be leaving some of them in a dangerous condition while others are blocking public lighting along the road.
Donegal County Council has agreed to investigate the issue.
But Cllr Donal Coyle says the local authority must take the appropriate action to avoid what he termed as an accident waiting to happen:
