HSE nursing homes in Donegal paid 81% more than private ones

Private nursing home operators say they are being discriminated against under the Fair Deal Scheme.
Quoting official figures, Nursing Homes Ireland says HSE nursing homes in Co Donegal are being paid 81% more per resident, per week, than their private and voluntary counterparts in the county.
The NHI analysis shows that the 14 private and voluntary nursing homes operating in County Donegal receive substantially less per resident than the 11 HSE nursing homes in the county, despite the fact that they provide the same service.
