Finn Harps and Derry City Reserves advance in North West Cup as Cockhill bow out

Finn Harps Reserves and Derry City Reserves have advanced to the next round of the North West Cup after they beat Dungiven Celtic and Newbuildings United respectively whilst Cockhill Celtic were defeated by Maiden City.
Finn Harps Reserves took the lead on 20 minutes when Joel Bradley Walsh powered his header into the back of the Dungiven Celtic net.
Ronan Gallagher doubled Harps’ lead on 71 minutes with a fine header before Stephen Doherty sealed a 3-0 victory for Tommy Canning’s side when he netted in the dying moments of the game.
Gweedore man Patrick Ferry scored both goals for Derry City Reserves as they defeated Newbuildings United 2-0.
Ferry opened the scoring in the eight minute for the Candystripes and that was how the game remained until the final minute of the game when Ferry netted his and his sides second of the game.
Cockhill Celtic bowed out of the North West Cup after they were defeated 3-1 by Maiden City.
Adam Duffy headed Cockhill ahead 14 minutes into the first half.
Brendan Moore levelled the game on 53 minutes before he added his second to turn the game around.
With 17 minutes to go Moore completed his hat-trick and sealed his side’s passage to the next round.
