Residents drinking dirty well water as connection too costly


It's been claimed that some residents in Donegal are drinking water from wells that isn't fit for human consumption because they can't afford to pay for a water connection.

Some connections from the mains to properties can cost over 50 thousand euro with people, many elderly and living off a pension, not in a position to foot the hefty bill.

Donegal County Council is to write to the Irish Water Regulator requesting a review and reduction of costs involved for new water connections.
