Harps Look To Nail Down Playoff Spot

Finn Harps take on Waterford at Finn Park on tonight (kick off 8pm) knowing even a draw would officially confirm their spot in the playoffs. UCD are six points back and have a markedly worse goal difference, so a comeback is unlikely at this point, but there will still be a sense of relief at Finn Park once 9th is mathematically secure. Either Cabinteely or Drogheda United will be the First Division representatives in the playoff.
Harps chairperson Sean Quinn said “We come to the last game of the regular season with the playoff position all but secured and getting that over the line will be a real achievement as 9th is our highest league finish in many years. It has been a tough battle since we kicked off back in February, but we hope Harps supporters will come out to help us get over the line and give ourselves a chance to secure a place in the top flight for next season”.
In team news Harps have no players suspended, but have a number that could potentially miss a playoff game should they pick up a card in this match.
