UK hopes of a Brexit deal dealt a blow

UK hopes of a Brexit deal have been dealt a blow, as the European Commission say its proposals “do not provide a basis for concluding an agreement”.
Boris Johnson’s idea would keep Northern Ireland in the EU single market for goods but see it leave the customs union.
Planned talks between the two sides this weekend have also been postponed.
Sky’s political correspondent Kate McCann says it doesn’t necessarily mean Brussels won’t be willing to talk about the British Prime Ministers plan.
