Waterford move eight points clear of Harps with Cork win

Waterford’s 2-1 victory over Cork City on Monday night at Turners Cross has eased the relegation pressure on the Blues.
Maxi Coogan and Walter Figuera scored the Waterford goals in the closing ten minutes to seal a very important three points.
They found themselves being dragged into a relegation scrap in recent weeks but four points from their last two league games has opened the gap to eight points on second from bottom Finn Harps.
They have also move ahead of Cork in the standings, with the Leesides seven points above Harps.
Harps return to action this Friday when they play their rescheduled game with St Pat’s at Finn Park.
