New figures show that just over six thousand families in Donegal have been awarded the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance for this year – one of the highest allocations in the country.
The closing date for receipt of applications for this year’s Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance is September 30th, with eligible families urged to apply before the deadline.
Donegal Deputy Thomas Pringle says while the high allocation is positive, the figures are also a clear indication of just how many families in the county are struggling financially:
