Ministers told they didn’t listen to Donegal’s services cry for help

 

Donegal Senator Padraig MacLochlainn has told a Joint Oireachtas Committee that neither the Health Minister nor the Minister with responsibility for Disabilities has listened to the cry for help from icare and the Bluestacks Special Needs Foundation.
After years without Government funding both organisations received €35,000 from the HSE this year and last.
However, that was despite the HSE calculating that what was needed for Bluestacks was €150,000 in funding per annum and €100,000 for icare.
Senator MacLochlainn raised his concerns at that meeting that no progress on securing annual funding for the vital services has been made:
