MOT no shows ‘hampering efforts’ to clear major backlog

 

A West Tyrone MLA claims MOT no shows are hampering efforts to clear the current backlog.
Its emerged that during the week June 10th – 16th, 644 people across Northern Ireland failed to show for their MOT appointment, at a time when motorists are currently waiting up to two months for an appointment at test centres in Newbuildings, Omagh and Enniskillen.
MLA Daniel McCrossan has also expressed disappointment at the Department of Infrastructure’s failure to grant a grace period for motorists:
