Kelly McGrory helps Ireland to new national record

It was a mixed day for the Donegal contingent at the European Games in Minsk on Tuesday.
There were a number of impressive performances from Ireland in the Dinamo Arena. The highlight of the Athletics was the Mixed 4x400m Relay.
Tir Chonaill’s Kelly McGrory was part of the team that set a new national record,
The other three runners were Andrew Mellon, Sinead Denny, and Luke Lennon Ford who finished in a combined time of 3:24.14.
Gerard O’Donnell of Carrick AC and who has strong family connections in the Ardara and Donegal Town areas finished 2nd placed in the 110m Hurdles in a time of 14.29secs.
In Badminotn, Rachael Darragh concluded the evening sessions for Ireland with a game 2 loss in the Women’s Singles Group E.
A tough game against Germany’s Yvonne Li saw Darragh beaten 21-17, 21-9.
The 21-year old will play her final group game today against Finland’s Airi Mikkela.
Josh Magee will also see action with Paul Reynolds in the Men’s Doubles this morning.
Chloe and Sam Magee lost to a French pair in yesterday’s mixed doubles.
They could however still make the knock out stage depending on other results.
