Government to bring forward Bill to phase out fur farming

The ISPCA has welcomed Minister Michael Creed’s announcement that the Government will bring forward a Bill to introduce a phased ban on current fur farming in Ireland.
It will make it illegal for any new fur farms to be established and arrangements will be put in place for the small number of current operators to allow for an orderly wind-down of the sector.
Tazetta fur farm in Glenties is the only farm in Donegal currently in operation.
