Irish Rural Link calls for action on rural fuel poverty


Irish Rural Link says people in rural communities are most at risk of fuel and energy poverty.
It’s annual conference in Athlone today has been told this is mainly because of the lack of alternative heating and energy sources.
Irish Rural Link CEO Seamus Boland says instead of looking at carbon taxes, the Government should help people retro-fit their homes to make them more energy efficient, and also help introduce new energy opportunities………..
