Lifeline in Inishowen facing threat of closure

 

A petition is to be handed over to the Children’s Minister requesting urgent funding for Lifeline in Inishowen.
The domestic violence centre in Carndonagh is said to be under a severe threat of closing due to a lack of funding from Government.
Last year the service helped 46 women on the peninsula however if the facility were to shut its doors, the closest service is in Letterkenny, about 60km away.
Manager of Lifeline, Mary Doherty says the petition will be submitted to Minister Catherine Zappone in the coming weeks with hopes that it might make a difference:
