DC&SDC to share £15m fund to boost fibre availability


Derry City and Strabane District Council is to share a fund of £15 million allocated to a consortium of 10 council’s across Northern Ireland to further boost fibre availability.
The funding is part of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport’s Local Full Fibre Networks Programme.
The funding will see full fibre delivered to approximately 880 public sector sites under the Public-Sector Anchor Tenancy model, by March 2021 and will enable Councils significantly develop their ability to deliver services and improve access for communities and residents.
