Gardai arrest learner driver in Letterkenny after positive drug test

 

 
A learner driver is due in court after driving under the influence of drugs in Letterkenny.
Gardai stopped the driver last night who was a Learner permit holder and had two passengers on board with them.
The motorist did not have L plates displayed and did not have a driver with a full licence accompanying them.
The driver tested positive for cannabis at the roadside and was arrested.
A court case is to follow.
It comes as Gardai are warning motorists to adhere to rules of the road ahead of the May Bank Holiday weekend.
Inspector Michael Harrison says there will be various checkpoints across the county over the coming days:
