Surge in An Post profits at expense of rural communities – Ó Fearraigh

 

The Government and management at An Post have been criticised over what’s been described as the ‘shameful showboating’ of its recent set of finance results.
The figures show that profits for An Post jumped by 400 per cent to €41M last year and come following the closure 151 mainly rural post offices over the last number of months, including 17 branches in Donegal.
Cllr John Shéamais Ó Fearraigh says it’s clear that decision makers are choosing to put profits ahead of rural communities:
