There’s concern that not enough progress is being made on a proposed riverwalk along the Swilly in Letterkenny.
Initial feedback from the OPW stated that a walk could only be developed along the more tidal sections of the river in conjunction with major flood prevention measures.
A number of proposed routes have been put forward for consideration however it’s understood that no definite route has been decided.
Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh says there’s a real expectation locally that this walkway will happen, and it’s important that Donegal County Council do everything they can to get the project off the ground:
