Use of Eircodes could combat rural crime


Farmers, householders and business owners in Donegal are being urged to participate in a new initiative to combat rural crime.
A system which allows property to be marked with the owner’s unique Eircode is being introduced in Donegal in the coming weeks, with gardai saying it makes it easier to reunite property with its owners.
The system is operated by Property Marketing Ireland, a not-for-profit company that will work with Donegal County Council and gardai.
