Two arrested in connection with Lyra McKee murder


Detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team have arrested two men, aged 18 and 19 under the Terrorism Act.
The arrests come in connection with the murder of Lyra McKee in the Creggan area of Derry on Thursday night.
They have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
The 29 year-old was shot dead during the disturbances in Derry on Thursday night.
The Omagh Trades Union Council and the Northwest Branch of the National Union of Journalists have organised a vigil in Omagh later today in her memory.
A minute’s silence will be held before a separate rally in Belfast over citizen’s rights after Brexit.
Meanwhile, police in the North released CCTV footage of the gunman involved.
They’re calling on the community of Creggan to help identify him, but believe more than one person was behind the attack.
