HSE want 5% rise in MMR uptake in Donegal this year

 

The HSE says it wants to see a 5% rise in MMR uptake in Donegal this year.
In a statement marking the fact that next week is European Vaccination Week, the HSE said measles hadn’t been seen in the area for a number of years, because 95% of children were vaccinated against them.
However, when vaccinations fell last year, that resulted in an outbreak of measles in January this year.
Last year, 90% of children in Donegal received the MMR, but Public Health Specialist Dr Laura Heavey says the goal for this year is to get back to 95%:
