Darren Hughes to miss Ulster Championship

Monaghan have suffered a serious injury blow with the start of their Ulster Football Championship campaign less than six-weeks away.

It's been confirmed that Darren Hughes suffered a broken ankle while playing for his club Scotstown on Sunday and will miss the provincial championship entirely.

Monaghan are already hoping that Niall Kearns will be fit for the May 18th meeting with Cavan after the midfielder underwent heart surgery around New Year's.
