Nearly 200 new recruits graduating from Garda College today


Nearly 200 new recruits will graduate from the Garda College today.
They’ll attend a passing out ceremony in Templemore in Co Tipperary.
Around 180 men and women have spent the past 34 weeks at the Garda College in Templemore preparing for a life in the force.
They’ll celebrate their hard work at a passing out ceremony at the campus today.
Minister for Justice Charlie Flanagan will be in attendance along with the new Garda Commissioner Drew Harris.
Mr. Harris took up the role on Monday and it will mark his first real public engagement.
After today’s ceremony the probationer gardai will be deployed to stations around the country, where they’ll complete their training over the next year and a half.
