2-1 was the final score when Derry City lost out to Waterford at the Brandywell on Friday night.
Waterford took the lead on 9 minutes, but Dean Shiels equalised for the home side just after the half-hour mark. Gavan Holohan scored the winner for Waterford on 45 minutes, though Derry did see a shot come off the crossbar in the dying minutes.
