Donegal organisations named winners in Good Causes Award


Six organisations across Donegal have been named as winners in the first ever National Lottery Good Causes Awards.
The awards honour the inspiring work and commitment of thousands of projects, clubs and individuals across the country.
Killybegs GAA Club is one of six organisations in Donegal to be awarded a National Lottery Good Causes Award with funding going towards fitting out the first floor of the club house, accomodating a new gym and meeting room.
Good Causes funding was allocated to Liquid Therapy, Bundoran for the purchase of extra surf boards and body suits meanwhile, funding was also allocated to the Kilmacreannan Abbey Preservation Society to develop a conservation plan to restore the Abbey.
Funding was used to help Praoi agus Sport Family Centre sustain its ‘Time for Us’ programme while funding also aided in sustaining a Donegal Youth service project, improving young people’s school attendance.
And professionals have been employed at An Grianan Theatre to work with children and young people from economically disadvantaged backgrounds thanks to the Good Causes funding.
