Almost €160,000 allocated for disadvantaged communities in Donegal


Donegal is to receive almost €160,000 in funding to enhance facilities in disadvantaged communities within the county.
€4.5 million is being allocated nationally under the Community Enhancement Programme with Donegal securing the fourth highest allocation.
The grant will go towards improving facilities such as; community centres and amenities, town parks, common areas and spaces, CCTV and energy efficiency projects.
In welcoming the announcement from the Department of Rural and Community Development, Government Chief Whip Minister Joe McHugh says the money is specifically targeted to try and build communities by giving them pride in their place.
Applications for funding can be made to Donegal Local Community Development Committee before the closing date on July 30th.
