Worrying ESRI report shows the need for urgent action – Doherty


A Donegal Deputy says the latest ESRI report shows the need for an economic vision to counter the decline in Donegal and rural Ireland.
The report projects the population growth is to be greatest major Irish cities, particularly, Dublin while the number of older people is forecast to be highest in border regions.
Deputy Pearse Doherty says Donegal is once again seen as the forgotten county and unless the Government implements change, rural Ireland will continue to decline.
He says the basic needs of the people of Donegal need to be provided for:
