The Health Minister and HSE management can no longer continue to ignore the situation at Letterkenny University Hospital.
That's the view of Donegal Deputy Charlie McConalgoue who was responding to the publication of the HSE's National Service Plan 2018.
The plan outlines that a number of hospitals nationwide are to receive additional beds to increase capacity but despite numerous calls for 20 additional beds at Letterkenny hospital, the plan excludes this request.
Deputy McConalogue is urging both Minister Harris and Donegal Minister Joe McHugh to step up to the plate:
Meanwhile there were 25 people waiting for a bed at Letterkenny University Hospital this morning according to the INMO.
12 people were waiting on trolleys in its Emergency Department while a further 13 people were on wards.
