Investigation continuing after elderly woman dies in house fire

 

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out today following the death of a woman in her 90s in a house fire in Buncrana.
The blaze broke out just after 4pm yesterday afternoon at a house in Ballymagan just outside Buncrana.
The woman who was the sole occupant of the house was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Letterkenny University Hospital.
Gardaí have preserved the scene and a forensic examination to determine the cause of the fire is due to be carried out this morning.
