There is outrage in Strabane at the news of the burglary in the home of a 101 year-old man.
On Friday night three men entered the home of Pat Gillespie demanding a sum of money – Mr Gillespie wasn’t physically injured but is said to be badly shaken by the incident.
Commenting on the incident, West Tyrone MLA Michaela Boyle said:
“It is heart-breaking to think that Pat, who has been so selfless in giving of himself to the community and civic life of this town down through the years, has fallen victim to criminals whose sole motivation is pure greed.”
She has appealed to anyone who may have any information to come forward:
