Calls for extra road-staff to repair Donegal flood damage


A Donegal County Councillor has called for temporary road staff be employed to deal with the recent flood damage to the roads infrastructure within the county.
Many roads and bridges were destroyed or damaged following the flash flooding that hit the Inishowen peninsula in August.
Donegal County Council says the current plan to resource the work programme resulting from the flood damage is to utilise a combination of extending existing contracts for existing seasonal workers, employ additional seasonal workers, employ contractors and examine if work crews are available from other areas unaffected by flood damage.
However, Cllr Bernard McGuinness has called for extra staff to be deployed to Inishowen without delay:
